First, let me start by saying that I am deeply and utterly sorry for not writing in a while (insert pouty lip here). My mother and I tend to read a lot of the same books, so when she first started reading a book by a woman named Jen Lancaster, she told me I had to read it. So, I started with "Bitter is the New Black" and read through until her newest book, a work of fiction, "If You Were Here". With this latest book, I can honestly say, I did not stop laughing from page one until the very last, laugh out loud word.
The story is told by one Mia MacNamara, wife, pet owner, and lover of all things John Hughes. She and her Mr. Fix-It (not) husband, Mac, are sick of their good for nothing, heiress landlord. So, with the money Mia is making off of her zombie romance novels, they buy their dream home. Which turns out to be nothing more than a junk home.

If that excerpt didn't make you crack up, I don't know what will. This book has everything from humour, to love, to crazy Polish grandmother, to God only knows what else! That's why it gets five Amish zombie thumbs up. I love it and I know that you will too.
On a totally different note, did anybody notice the awful "banner" thing above this post? If you want to make me really happy and make my world a little bit brighter, would anybody mind making me a new one using the same picture and words and such? I'd appreciate it, give your blog a shout-out and then whatever else (because, lets face it, a shout-out means nothing. Yet.).
